Family Named Scholarships
A Scholarship in your family’s name will be created with donations over $5000.

Estate Planning and SEI
SEI’s funding for non-profit renewable energy education can be helped through the gifts of those who include SEI in their estate planning. Donors can make a valuable contribution while taking advantage of federal and state tax laws that may allow reduction of income taxes and lower gift and estate taxes.

Some of the possibilities include a bequest through a will or trust; naming SEI the beneficiary of an insurance policy or retirement plan; a charitable remainder trust or charitable lead trust; and a pooled income fund.

For more information about planned giving, including bequests and annuities, please contact Kathy Swartz, SEI Executive Director, at kswartz@solarenergy.org or (970) 527-7657.

How Are Your Membership Dues Used?

What programs are supported by your membership dues vs. your paid tuition?
This is one of the most common questions we get as our technical training programs are funded entirely by student tuition.  This tuition covers the cost of running SEI’s technical training program, curriculum development, instructional costs, and student services functions.

Donations and additional support is needed in order for SEI to continue providing our charitable outreach efforts.   The SEI Alumni and Friends Association is the overarching program within SEI that helps promote and manage those charitable activities separate from our technical training programs geared for career focused and professional training.

Your donation will be prioritized for SEI’s outreach and educational programs that are primarily supported by donations and our generous supporters. These activities include:

  • Veterans and Active Duty Scholarship Program
  • Solar in the Schools Outreach Program
  • Native American Outreach Program
  • …and all other scholarship funds
